My Farmland
56’ | English Version | HD
The impact of Chinese investment in Canada’s cities has been well‐publicized, and now My Farmland explores how it’s affecting the agricultural sector too. By focusing on three families: two in tiny Saskatchewan farming communities, the other in the wine‐making region of Niagara‐on‐the‐Lake, Ontario, the film tells a very human story of how communities react to the influx of people from a different culture who hope for a better life by working the land. It’s also about what these newcomers must face and how sometimes their ties to their homeland can benefit to all.
