THE PANDEMIC TREE PLANTER
52’ | English Version | 4K
This documentary is about the marvelous and desolated forests of British Columbia (Canada). The film follows Chloë, a millennial van lifer, as she works throughout the province planting trees during the pandemic. Quarantined in remote communities and bush camps, she experiences the extreme heat and wildfires that ravaged Western Canada in 2021, as well as the realities of logging, deforestation, and climate change as it exists today. The film considers the planter’s role within the industrial tree-farming machine while reconciling the social and ecological values of a community that tirelessly replants the forest.
