WATER WORLDS

13 x 23’' | English Version | 4K

Indigenous people are known to be keepers of the land and waters. As the world evolves, our traditional lands, oceans and waterways are being polluted and destroyed. In our culture, water is sacred, water is life. Like everything on mother earth, it needs to be protected.

Water Worlds is a documentary series that explores our planet’s fragile aquatic ecosystems through Indigenous eyes. It will take you on visually stunning journeys under the oceans, lakes, wetlands, and other bodies of water in Canada and around the world with an Indigenous perspective in mind. On these journeys you will learn about the impact humans have on our precious aquatic life and ecosystems that are an integral part of our planet. You will meet courageous people, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous who are working towards positive change.

Water worlds will use the Two-Eyed teaching of learning to see from one eye with the strengths of Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing, and from the other eye with the strengths of Western knowledge and ways of knowing. Learning to use both these eyes together for the benefit of all is our guiding principle on this journey.

The series will be narrated in Cree by internationally renowned Cree actor, Tantoo Cardinal .
